What programs do you offer?

We offer - Playgroup, Nursery, LKG and UKG. We also provide Daycare services for the convenience of parents. We also offer a four-week Summer Camp program as well.

Do you have any minimum age requirement for admission to Preschool?

Yes. We have specific age requirements that need to be met for a child's admission into our various programs. The minimum age is 18 months for Playgroup, for Nursery it is 2.5 years, for Junior KG it is 3.5 yrs and 4.5 yrs for Senior KG.

Do you have any minimum age requirements for admission into Daycare?

Your child should be at least 6 months before they can be allowed into our Daycare. Also children older than 12 years are not allowed into the Daycare. For children below 18 months we have a separate model of infant care where infants from age of 6 months are taken care of.

Do you have any age requirements for your Summer Camp programs?

The Summer Camp program is open for all children aged between 3 - 12 yrs old.

What is Staff to Child ratio for your Preschool programs?

1:8 is the Staff-Child ratio for Playgroup & Nursery, and 1:10 for Junior KG & Senior KG.

What is the child-care worker to child ratio for your Daycare?

We maintain a 1:5 child-care Worker to child ratio for our Daycare.

Do you provide any transport facilities?

Yes, we provide transport facility within a radius of 5km of our location.

What are the timings for Preschool?

Preschool starts at 9:15am to 12:30pm for Playgroup, Nursery, Junior KG, Senior KG.

What are the timings for Daycare?

The Daycare is open for over 12 hrs from 8:00am to 8:30pm for the convenience of parents.

What is the Fee Structure for Preschool?

The Preschool has an initial Admission Fee, followed by three term payments each of which is due before the beginning of each term.

What is the Fee Structure for Daycare?

The Daycare has an initial Admission Fee, followed by monthly advance payments that are due before the 5th of every month. The monthly payments are computed based on the number of hours of Daycare facilities that you wish to avail.

What are the transportation charges?

Transportation charges are computed based-on the distance (in kms) of your home/pick-up location from our Preschool. The minimum charges are for a distance of 1 km and further distances the charges are calculated in increments of half-a-km each upto a distance of 5km.

Do you have any tie-ups with any other school from 1st Standard onwards?

No, not at present. But we are actively working on it and we shall have an update for you soon.

Do you have any plans to expand your presence to other areas?

Yes, we do. We are planning to open a new center in Kondapur soon. While Baalyam is an independent Preschool we are looking to grow organically by opening up in new locations or by acquisitions.

What relaxation/rest facilities do you offer in Daycare?

A two-hour sleeping time is part of the daycare schedule (based on the timing of the day). Adequate hygienic beds, pillows and sheets, etc. are available.

How frequently are the restrooms cleaned?

The restrooms are maintained hygienically and are cleaned after every use. Apart from that complete cleaning happens on a daily basis and more often in case they are required.

How do you handle if children are sick or need medication during school hours?

As a matter of practice we advise parents not to send sick children to the school. However, if the child is recovering and needs some follow up medicines, then the parents need to provide the medicine along with the prescribed dosage, so that we can give the medicine when the time is due.
If a child feels particularly unwell during the school hours we immediately notify the parents, and request you to pick-up your child as soon as possible. In case of emergencies, we will inform the parents immediately and rush to the nearest available medical facility with due approval (in non-critical emergencies) from the parents.

What is your admission system?

The School academic year is from June to April. The admission may be granted during other months also depending upon the availability of seats. A Birth Certificate as a proof of age from the Civic Body is required at the time of Registration. Two passport sized photographs are to be submitted at the time of Registration.

What languages do you use to converse with children?

The child is made comfortable in the school by making use of both the mother-tongue as well as English language to express himself and to communicate with others.

What teaching methodology do you follow in your school?

We use the Baalyam Connection-Continuum Methodology in our teaching and pedagogical approaches. The Methodology not only focuses on teaching but also on learning appraoches which take into account the the child's age and environment. The activities are not only to clarify the concepts but also to meet the various needs of the child such as refinement of all the skills that a child should possesss and develop.

What set of skills do you enable my child to develop?

Every child innately possess but needs to develop and refine a holistic set of skills that prepares them for future. At Baalyam, we focus on all skills as outlined in the Baalyam SkillsWave. These skills are - Cognitive skills, Gross Motor skills, Fine Motor skills, Language skills, Speech skills, Social skills and Emotional skills.

How does Baalyam prepare my child for formal schooling?

The children are given a lot of practice through series of Mock-Interactive Session conducted from time to time. This develops confidence in them. To that end qualified educationists provide expert counselling for parents too.

What are your Summer Camp offerings?

Summer Camps with many activities and games are organized in nearly all the branches. A detailed information along with the charges as per the activity is provided before the Summer Break.

May I visit my child during his/her day?

We allow you to spend time with your child for a few days (maximum upto a week) while your child is new to the Preschool. After the initial adjustment period the child is encouraged to interact with other children, teachers and surroundings so their various skills and faculties develop more fully.

How will I know that my child is safe while I am at work?

Baalyam School is committed to the safety and security of the children and teachers in their Schools and choose security systems that work best for their individual locations. Visitors are required to present identification and register in Visitor Logs. Alternate caregivers, authorized by children's parents, must present identification information.

Will my child be challenged academically at Baalyam?

Yes. At Baalyam Preschool, we think the best academic preparation is to encourage your child's enthusiasm for learning. Teachers who have a keen interest in your child's success create lesson plans based on Baalyam Developmental Guidelines and monthly themes. By providing individual attention in a small group setting, Baalyam teachers nurture each child's confidence. Learning to ask questions, discovering cause and effect, negotiating fair play and making new friends are all academic building blocks at Baalyam.

How do Baalyam School teachers prepare for the classroom setting?

Each Baalyam School's faculty is made up of warm and nurturing teachers with a combination of formal education and experience. Baalyam School teachers are:

  • Selected for their ability to engage children warmly in the learning process through the use of effective and unique lesson plans.
  • Required to fulfill education and/or experience requirements.
  • Required to complete an exclusive training series developed specifically for Baalyam School teachers. This unique program coaches teachers in the areas of health and safety, curriculum, developmental guidelines and enrichment programs.

What security measures are taken when releasing children?

Baalyam requires to have a written sign-in / sign-out log procedures. With a parent or guardian's permission only, a child may be released to an alternate caregiver who must present atleast one form of picture ID.

Do you conduct exams? If so, for which classes? Is marking done and are ranks given?

Examinations are held thrice in a academic year for each term for the Nursery pragram onwards. No exams are held for Playgroup. Report Card is given on performance-based grades. Marking is not done and ranks are not given.

Can exams be postponed or rescheduled?

No. If a child is absent on the day of exam, ‘Absent’ will be marked in the Report Card.

Is it compulsory to attend Parent Teacher Meeting (PTM)?

Yes. The PTM should preferably be attended by both the parents.

Are competitions held for all classes?

Yes. But all children are made to feel like winners as every child receives a gift.

How can I celebrate my child’s birthday in school?

Every child's birthday is celebrated by the teachers and the classmates. If parents wish to attend their child's birthday celebration, they must come in half an hour before the school finishes. Parents are allowed to distribute only two sweets/chocolate on child’s birthday. Anything more will be sent back.

Do we need to send additonal dress/diapers along with the child?

Yes. Especially so if your child is not potty-trained yet. Even if your child is trained, we request that you alway spack a spare set of clothing and diapers as needed.

Do you celebrate various festivals?

All major festivals like Janmashtami, Dussehra, Diwali, Holi, Christmas, Ramzan and Raksha Bandhan are celebrated at School.

How does a typical learning day look like at Baalyam?

A learning day at Baalyam opens with a prayer, followed by two classes of 40 mins each. There will a 20 mins snack-break, followed by Arts class of 40 mins. Finally the day is rounded off with a 40 mins free play time.

Does my child need to be potty trained to be enrolled?

No, we do not require that children be potty-trained. If your child is "in-training" or has occasional accidents we ask that you bring a change of clothes, (clearly labeled), to school.

How do you deal with discipline problems?

We are dedicated to the premise that one does not need to feel worse in order to behave better. Behavior improves as discouragement lessens. No discipline that shames or belittles a child will be employed.
